🌟Looking Back With Gratitude, Ahead With Hope 🌟 Dear ShareBaby Supporter, At times, this year felt impossible for so many - enduring massive layoffs, the federal shutdown, threats to WIC, SNAP and healthcare, and increased cost of everyday essentials. However, the love and support from donors and philanthropic funders, volunteers, and every family who donated items enabled us to meet the milestone of serving more than 250,000 children and ending 2025 with more support, staff, and resources than we’ve had in the history of the organization. While ShareBaby’s ability to reach such a significant milestone in 11 years is something to celebrate, we’re motivated by the confirmed reality that there’s still a substantial gap we must close. The Urban Institute conducted a study that mapped diaper need county-by-county across the country. From this new analysis, we learned that the gap between the amount of diapers families can provide and the amount of diapers that children need in Baltimore City is 10 million diapers. Armed with this data, we know that ShareBaby must continue to increase our impact to ensure that every family with young children in Baltimore has the support they need. This simple idea helped to crystallize the overall goal of our first 3-year strategic plan that we will begin to implement in 2026: Operational Excellence. Our goals are ambitious but achievable. As we move forward with a clear roadmap for our future growth, I ask you to carefully read our Strategic Plan to find one area of growth that you can help us achieve. Every contribution of time, money, items, and connections is critical to ShareBaby’s success. Behind every family we serve are partners like Nova—showing up month after month to make sure parents have the support they need. Nova began volunteering with the Better Waverly Community Organization during COVID-19 emergency response, helping to distribute food boxes to neighbors. Better Waverly then partnered with ShareBaby to also distribute diapers and baby essentials, which Nova still facilitates on a monthly basis. Nowadays, Better Waverly reaches about 80 families through their monthly distributions, most of which have found their services through word of mouth. "When we do resource distribution days, we start at noon and people start lining up at like 10:00 am. It's like, the need is pretty intense." Nova also makes herself available for more urgent diaper pickups. "The last time I received a phone call, it was from a single mom. She had just left her partner who was abusive towards her. She has five kids, and was like, 'I hate asking for help, but I really actually do need the help.' And it was really nice for me to be able to be like, 'Yes, of course, what do you need?' I just like giving people the things that they need." You can help us strengthen our existing partnerships and expand to serve more partners throughout Baltimore City by making a gift today. ShareBaby’s impact is felt through volunteers like Barb, whose compassion and commitment remind us just how powerful community involvement can be. Barb first got involved with ShareBaby during a school trip that she supervised, a visit that left a lasting impression. From that moment, she knew that once she retired she wanted to be involved in a more meaningful and consistent way. As a grandmother, Barb understands how challenging it can be to provide for young children. For Barb, volunteering at ShareBaby feels deeply impactful. "Having ShareBaby help with diapers and clothing takes a huge burden off of families." Knowing that a baby has the diapers and clothing they need brings comfort and stability to parents who are already juggling so much. We could not do the work without our wonderful volunteers!
